Family Whitewater (Town Run II)

Minimum Age: 6yrs. and over 50lbs.
Enjoy an adventure fun for the whole family. This trip starts at Chicago Creek, where Gold was first discovered in Colorado. Floating through the historic town of Idaho Springs you will see gold mines, the Charles Taylor Waterwheel and even a Castle. Outside of town the action begins as you paddle the raft though the class II rapids that abound throughout this stretch of river. You’ll challenge rapids like The Box, Mountain Lion, Twister, Dizzy Lizzie and more. But don’t worry you’ll still have time to enjoy the Colorado scenery, look for bighorn sheep, or maybe even a beaver. This is a great trip for children and those looking for a mild introduction to whitewater rafting.

Minimum Age: 16yrs.
Come experience the newest All American Adventure in our brand new 10’ SOTAR rafts.
Space is limited to 6 participants per trip.
Our most exciting late season adventure yet! A low water excursion through the steepest part of Clear Creek, this trip is almost 100% whitewater. No warm-up, no messing around this trip is high adventure all the way through. You will cover the middle section of Clear Creek, descending at nearly 150’ per mile, rafting through some of the steepest commercially ran whitewater in the country. You will encounter two Class V rapids during the descent with the goal being to run one. Most commonly we will run the Narrows and will portage or line the rafts through part of Black Rock. In addition to paddle rafting through long continuous rapids participants may also participate in Portaging, Whitewater Swimming, Rock Climbing/Canyoning and Technical River Rescue. Prior whitewater experience is strongly recommended and the ability to swim is required. 1st time rafters may participate but should be in excellent physical condition and have prior experience in other high adventure sports (ex. rock climbing, skydiving, backcountry skiing/boarding, kite boarding, surfing or adventure/endurance racing).
If you are interested in running our Class V Clear Creek Canyon Full Day during the regular season this is a great trip to warm up with and test your skills. |
