FAMILY and BEGINNER RAFT TRIPS

Family Whitewater

$40 (Ages 13+) $35 (Ages 7-12) per person (Minimum Age/Weight 7 yrs. and 50 lbs.)
Enjoy an adventure fun for the whole family. This trip starts at Chicago Creek, where Gold was first discovered in Colorado. Floating through the historic town of Idaho Springs you will see gold mines, the Charles Taylor Waterwheel and even a Castle. Outside of town the action begins as you paddle the raft though the class 2-3 rapids that abound throughout this stretch of river. You’ll challenge rapids like The Box, Mountain Lion, Twister, Dizzy Lizzie and more. But don’t worry you’ll still have time to enjoy the Colorado scenery, look for bighorn sheep, or maybe even a beaver. This is a great trip for those looking for an introduction to whitewater rafting.

CLASS III-IV and INTERMEDIATE RAFT TRIPS

Clear Creek Express
$50 per person (Minimum Age 13)
A great trip for those looking for quick whitewater filled adventure. Good for experienced rafters or those looking to start their rafting experience by jumping right into some difficult rapids. This trip goes through some of Clear Creek’s most notorious rapids on the river. Phoenix, Deliverance (yes it’s named after the movie) and Outer Limits will test even experienced rafters as they plunge through this nearly continuous section of whitewater collectively known as the Gauntlet.
Clear Creek Half Day
$60 per person (Minimum Age 16)
Looking for a wet, wild adventure, you found it. This trip has the longest class 3 rapids on the river and a couple challenging class 4s to really get the blood pumping. After a brief class 2 warm up, you’ll be greeted by rapids Meat and Beef and Lumpy’s Run. Two rapids so long you can’t see from one end to the other. The next section is filled with fun unnamed rapids that lead to the heart of the whitewater. You’ll be deep in the action with Nomad, Fall River, Phoenix Holes, Deliverance and the fearsome finish, Outer Limits.

CLASS IV and ADVANCED RAFT TRIPS

Clear Creek Full Day
$100 per person (Minimum Age 16)
This is a big day of whitewater adventure. Starting at 8000ft. the morning finds you paddling the long class 3 and 4 rapids of the Upper Clear Creek Half Day down to the town of Idaho Springs for a delicious lunch display and a brief respite from the constant whitewater assault. Afternoon picks up the pace as you dive into the rapids of Clear Creek Canyon. Here the river ducks away from the road in numerous places where you’ll encounter the hidden rapids and scenic bends of the Clear Creek Canyon Class 4 Half Day. The Beavers, Double Knife, Deep Hell and Honeydipper Falls will help ease the guilt of that last cookie at lunch.
Class IV Half Day
$70 per person (Minimum Age 16)
If your looking for a high excitement dose of whitewater adventure this is the trip for you. You’ll barely warm up before you plunge over Upper and Lower Beaver Falls and then we drop into Clear Creek Canyon. The next section while only a few miles in length drops through 8 class 3 and 4 rapids, Double Knife, Deep Hell, Corkscrew and the Terminators will challenge your determination to pass through this amazing, heart pounding section of whitewater, and it’s not over yet! After a brief time to relax the action begins again with a nearly continuous class 3 finale. Dr. Dred, Honeydipper Falls, Corner Pocket and Jabba the Rock will take you to the brink of Clear Creek’s first class 5 rapid and the end of this adrenalin charged trip.
Class IV Full Day
$125 per person (Minimum Age 18)
A wild adventure for the serious whitewater maniac. This trip begins at the start of Clear Creek Canyon and descends all the way to the outskirts of Golden. Passing through some of the most scenic sections of the river you’ll wish you had time to enjoy it more as the rapids come at you non-stop. In the morning you’ll build your appetite on the same rapids encountered on the Class 4 Half Day before enjoying a satisfying riverside lunch. After lunch you’ll get right back to it as we paddle down to the brink of the first class 5 rapid. A quick drive around this one and its time for Clear Creek’s longest class 4 rapid, The Energizer, as a reward we get access to one of the rivers longest, most scenic, meanders away from the road. Another quick break to drive past the other two class 5s and we launch right into a class 3 rapid. This last hurrah for Clear Creek will show no mercy on your tired arms dropping nearly 500 ft. through Starting Gates, Double Dip, Bone Alley and the Screaming ½ mile.

CLASS V and EXPERT RAFT TRIPS

What is Class V?
Extremely long, obstructed, or very violent rapids which expose a paddler to added risk. Drops may contain large, unavoidable waves and holes or steep, congested chutes with complex, demanding routes. Rapids may continue for long distances between pools, demanding a high level of fitness. What eddies exist may be small, turbulent, or difficult to reach. At the high end of the scale, several of these factors may be combined. Scouting is recommended but may be difficult. Swims are dangerous, and rescue is often difficult even for experts. Proper equipment, extensive experience, and practiced rescue skills are essential.
